My Working Style
In 2021, I downsized my belongings and left the UK, beginning my journey as a digital nomad. Since then, I’ve visited more than 40 countries, all while working with some of the world’s most well-known brands.
Remote work has enabled me to pursue my dream of visiting every country (101 down!), and I love the freedom and inspiration it brings to working life.
Unfortunately, I think there’s still a common misconception that traveling while working means lying on a beach, cocktail in hand while you lazily fire off a few Slack messages. The truth is, the majority of long-term nomads aren’t influencers. Excellent service and results that move the needle have always been the key to making this lifestyle possible.

Even though I might be in a different time zone, rest assured that you’ll always receive top-notch service. My priority is to ensure your projects succeed, no matter where I am.
My journey into the world of remote work started with my passion for experiencing new places and cultures. Traveling continuously has allowed me to push my boundaries and live a fulfilling life. Learn more about my ‘why’ in Location Independence Changed My Life: Here’s How.
“I have been working with Scott extensively in the past three months. He never missed a deadline or a call. We collaborated async with folx from other agencies between the US and Australia, and everything went smoothly.”

Communication
- How I Communicate: I use whatever communication method you prefer—Slack, email, or anything else that works for you.
- Response Time: During my working hours, you can usually expect a response within 30 minutes. I respond to urgent requests within a maximum of 12 hours.
- Async Approach: No one likes a day packed out with meetings. I’m happy working async-first, with detailed and frequent updates on my progress.
Time Zones and Availability
- Meeting Times: I’m flexible and don’t mind meeting late, right up to a midnight cut-off point. That might seem late (it is!) but I’m used to this, having collaborated with teams spread across as many as 14 timezones in the past.
- Travel Patterns: I generally move to a different region every six months, and then move between countries that are connected or close by. I aim to keep any meeting times the same over small time difference changes.
- Meeting Overlap: Sometimes it’s better to catch up over a call. I can factor in overlap with your team, no matter where you are.
My Expertise
- My Top Industries: I’ve been working in marketing for the past decade (mainly in the UK’s competitive agency space), and have worked with software engineering businesses for the past five. In the last three years specifically, I’ve been working with open source (specifically WordPress), but in the past, I’ve helped businesses promote proprietary systems, app development, and SaaS.
- Simplified Career-To-Date:
- My first ever role was as a graphic designer (and later a brand strategist) for a record label in the city I moved to for University.
- I then joined the multi-national performance marketing agency Journey Further as a creative marketing executive, creating pitch decks and display ads for some of Britain’s largest companies.
- In 2018, I worked in my first B2B generalist role with AFS, a group of companies specializing in asset and commercial finance. I was the sole marketer for three rapidly-scaling brands and provided training to over 200 franchisees.
- Keen to sharpen my B2C skills, my next role was at travel agency Euroventure, where I was again responsible for all marketing operations. I also managed and mentored a rotating team of 5-10 ERASMUS students.
- Next was my intro to the tech sector at Netsells, one of the fastest-growing agencies in the UK. Here I focused on developing my data skills, monitoring analytics, setting strategy, and producing lead gen content.
- That’s when I went fractional! Recently I’ve been working with XWP, a leading enterprise WordPress agency, X-Team, a talent-on-demand agency for experienced engineering talent, and Scale Consortium, a shared initiative from the top 5 WordPress agencies to focus on scaling the platform’s use in the enterprise market.
“Not once has his nomadic lifestyle affected his availability, I found him to be more responsive than many of us who are stationary. It has been an absolute pleasure to work alongside Scott”

Tom Stinson
VP of People & Culture at X-Team
